A comprehensive project to document the cultural and historical heritage of Matara region, including traditional arts, crafts, and architectural sites. This project aims to create a digital archive that will preserve our local heritage for future generations.
Key Objectives:
- Document at least 50 cultural heritage sites in Matara
- Interview 30 local artisans and cultural practitioners
Sustainable School Initiative
A project focused on transforming our school into a model of sustainability through waste reduction, energy conservation, water management, and biodiversity promotion. This initiative engages the entire school community in creating a more environmentally friendly campus.
Key Objectives:
- Reduce school waste by 40% through recycling and composting
- Implement energy-saving measures to reduce consumption by 25%
Youth Leadership Academy
A structured leadership development program that equips students with essential leadership skills, ethical values, and global awareness. The academy includes workshops, mentoring sessions, practical leadership experiences, and community service projects.

- Implement 10 student-led community service projects
Cultural Exchange Network
A project that connects our UNESCO Society with similar clubs in other countries to facilitate cultural exchange, collaborative learning, and international friendship. The network includes virtual exchanges, collaborative projects, and occasional in-person visits.

- Establish partnerships with 5 UNESCO clubs in different countries
- Conduct monthly virtual exchange sessions
Community Literacy Initiative
A project aimed at improving literacy rates in underserved communities around Matara. Our students conduct regular reading sessions, distribute books, and organize literacy workshops for children and adults in these communities.

- Distribute 1000 books to underserved communities
Science for Sustainable Development
A project that explores how scientific innovation can contribute to achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Students engage in research, experimentation, and solution development addressing local manifestations of global challenges.
